The professional staff at the Counseling Center are committed to assisting students in defining and achieving success during their time at Mines. As students encounter the challenges and decisions points inherent in the college experience, this office can help in many ways:
• Crisis intervention
• Alcohol and drug assessment and education
• Educational programs and workshops
• Referrals to local providers as needed
In addition to the above personalized services, the Counseling Center also sponsors online screening for such problems as depression, anxiety, alcohol problems and eating disorders. [enter keyword "mines" no quotes.] We offer podcasts and online handouts and pamphlets on a multitude of topics, such as healthy relationships, test anxiety, time management, communication and stress, and a resource library of over 250 books for checkout.
The Counseling Center sponsors campus-wide events, such as Wellness Day and health information presentations in collaboration with the Student Health Center.
Our services support the Five Dimensions of Wellness that we encourage students to develop and explore.
